Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-03
Vita is a personal health tracker. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to reflect how the app actually works. Replace this scaffold with your finalized, legally-reviewed policy before release.
Who we are
Vita is operated by Vita. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@getvita.app. We are the data controller for the data described below.
Data we collect
We collect only what you provide or explicitly enable:
- Account data: your email address, managed through AWS Cognito, used to sign you in and secure your account.
- Health & wellness data you log: body weight and composition, fasting sessions, food/calories, activity and steps, water, sleep, heart rate, blood glucose and ketones, supplements, caffeine, mood/energy/stress, and optional alcohol/tobacco reduction tracking.
- Reproductive & cycle data (optional): only if you enable cycle tracking, we store the period, flow, symptom, basal body temperature, and fertility-sign entries you log, and derive a cycle-phase estimate. This is off by default, kept private to your account, never sold or used for advertising, and covered by data export and account deletion like everything else. Predictions are estimates, not a contraceptive method or medical advice.
- Profile & goals: height, birth year, sex, activity level, unit preferences, and goal weight/date.
- Coarse location (optional): only if you enable AI insights, we store an approximate location (rounded to about 11 km) to fetch local temperature as an analysis signal. We never store your precise location.
- Subscription status: if you purchase Vita Plus, your plan/entitlement state is managed via the mobile app stores (Apple / Google) through RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Add any analytics/crash-reporting SDKs you actually integrate (e.g. none today), and confirm this list before release.
How we use your data
- To provide the core tracking features and show your own data back to you.
- To compute daily summaries and, only with your explicit opt-in consent, AI/statistical insights about your trends.
- To manage your subscription entitlement and account.
We do not sell your data or use your health data for advertising. Confirm and keep this true.
Consent for analytics & AI
Analysis of your health data (correlations and AI-generated notes) is off by default. It runs only after you turn on “AI insights” in Settings, and you can withdraw consent at any time — which stops further processing and removes the derived insights and any stored coarse location.
Where your data is processed
Your data is stored and processed on AWS in the EU (eu-west-3, Paris). AI insights are generated using an in-region model so your health data stays in the EU. Confirm sub-processors (AWS, RevenueCat, Open-Meteo) and list them here.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can export all your data or permanently delete your account (GDPR Article 17 — right to erasure) from within the app; deletion removes your records across all data types and your login. State your backup-retention window.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you have rights to access, correct, export, delete, and restrict processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Exercise them in-app or by emailing privacy@getvita.app. See also our Consumer Data Privacy notice.
Children
Vita is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We will update the “last updated” date above when this policy changes and, where required, notify you in the app.
Not medical advice
Vita is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device. Nothing in the app — including AI-generated insights — is medical advice.
